Found the tour itself unusual enough to want to make a side trip from Mammoth Caves, so it will be a fun stop given even the above ground nature trail, history discussion prior to the boat tour itself.
Note the season and weather when you plan to go ... sometimes too rainy to run tours for a while so you wont be able to enjoy the cave river float tour
Also hosts events including weddings, dances and more. Hope to return soon for the Cave Crawl, which is on foot and shows some of the upper cave system.
Kid and adult friendly. The boat tour is short but worth every penny, the caves are mind blowing.
Beautiful views with a great walk. Not a great walk for the mobility impaired. Although wheelchair accessible to a point, going back uphill may be difficult. Call ahead to discuss options.
Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The entire operation is non profit, proceeds from sales and gift shop merchandise go towards keeping the area pristine and assisting in clean up from decades of eco-abuse by locals.
Love coming here hiking and walking. Bring company when they visit even though I've been many times. The nature trails are pretty cool and there is a small water fall not to mention the water holes and the cave area. Love their gift shop and have taken grand kids to pan for gems. It's a nice place and close to our home.
We took our 4 year old. He and my husband and I loved it. Perfect for a first time cave experience. But, you Must be able to walk down, And Back Up, a long pathway to the cave. And then a small staircase in the cave, to get down to the boat.
All in all, enjoyable tour.
Reservations are recommended, but we had no trouble walking in on a Friday in Mid October, although our boat was full.
Gift shop fun, with some fun extra cost activities for kids
The cave is young in terms of geological formation, but still some interesting formations.
As I am sure others noted, it is a bit of a walk to get to the boat tour (including hills, inclines and stairs).
This place is pretty cool. My husband and I stopped by on vacation to check out the caves. The boat tour was very cool. There are some great formations, but it's obvious this cave is still pretty "young". There is also a beautiful walking trail along with a butterfly habitat that was cool to check out. The gift shop is also pretty great. There are tons of great items from geodes, jewelry, and home decor. I'm only giving a 5 star review because I agree with other reviewers that the tour should be a tad cheaper.
