Last little story. The place I lived in allowed pets. I took benefit of this with having a dog and paying a monthly fee. I don't really get the monthly fee for pets. It seems pretty stupid but that's beside the point. After I moved out I had heard from other people in the apartment complex that maintenance went into everyones apartments while they were away at work/school and noted which apartments had pets and which didn't. Then notified every resident with a unregistered pet that they had to pay the monthly pet fee for every month they've lived there plus a violation fee. That's legal under their lease. Not saying it's against the law but their charging people close to twice their rent with little notice.
Just don't.
The staff is inattentive and lies to residents continually. They respond very inappropriately to tenants concerns both in emails and on social media. This company needs to learn basic business etiquette.
The Sky Property Management team have been wonderful! They're very prompt with answering emails and phone calls. I've recently had a great experience with Rachel, who was able to show me a few different properties. She was willing to answer my questions without making me feel silly for asking them and showed me the properties within two days of me reaching out. Overall, they are great, and I highly recommend renting from them.
Read the reviews on this site before renting from them. You'll see a lot of similarities. Two words: Money hungry.
I have dealt with Sky Property Management as a vendor and now as a tenant. Owning a cleaning company we see a lot of properties and there is a reason I choose to live at a Sky Management property. The staff is very friendly and respectful. Maintenance is fast and friendly. I recommend Sky to all my employees and friends.
WORST PLACE POSSIBLE!!! they want to just take your money. they charge for trash disposal. very rude workers! better places in bowling green!
Not only do they charge exorbitant fees, they'll also do anything they can to stiff their residents. I was emailed from SKY saying that my pet was off a leash and walking through the breezeway unattended. On that date, I was actually on another vacation in Denver Colorado. The property management insinuated that I was to blame and told me they would charge me $50 and possible eviction if my pet was off a leash again. Again? She wasn't ever off the leash the first time. So, I finally had to submit my plane tickets to show that I was actually telling the truth and no one was at my residence. Apparently the other tenant was then "talked to" because my unit number had been given to them as the issue. At this point, I gave 30-days notice on my month-to-month lease and I'm gone. Enough is enough.
I was one of the first residents in a new construction. When I toured the apartment it looked nice. The person walking it down told me it was cabled up for Time Warner. I really just wanted to make sure I had internet if I moved in so that was good to hear. After moving in I call TimeWarner to set up a new plan. Someone came out and told me the cable lines hadn't been pulled to the apartment complex yet...It took three months for me to finally be able to use TimeWarner which I was told had been "hook up" already.
I've lived in seven different places over the past seven years. I've lived in private homes, private rooms, and apartment complexes. I've also lived in different states. This has to be the worst place by far I have ever lived.
When I moved in there weren't mailboxes yet which is fine. New construction. Two or three weeks in we are given keys to our mailboxes. I check the mail and bam there's some mail for me. Awesome. Then I notice that I'm not receiving mail anymore. I didn't really know what was going on, but after a couple weeks I went to the post office. They had to bring out the post master to tell me that the mailbox was not up to code and they couldn't deliver mail to it. He also stated he had talked with the building manager about this issue. So why are the residents who this is causing problems for not notified? That's a good question. It took them over a month in install a mailbox system that was up to code.
If you need more proof just read the lease. I have never read a lease that was more perfect for the property manager. You have no power over anything for 12 months. I also wouldn't advise leaving early unless you want to give up your deposit and a months rent, and that's with 60 days notice. I literally bought a house after living here it was so bad.
