Definitely not my favorite hospital though I don't really like hospitals at all. I had a bad experience here in 2004. I have since visited patients/friends here but the other hospital in town has more services and better care in my experience.
If you can avoid this hospital if you need the ER, definitely do! My husband went here last week and I can assure you it was subpar care! The charge nurse was rude and totally clueless. They stuck my husband NINE (9) times before finally getting the IV. I became a paramedic in 1992 and our oldest daughter is an RN at a local hospital where we live and this was by far the worst experience we've encountered. Drive to another town if you need the ER!!
Had my rotator cuff repaired by Dr. Richards. Very professional. It's been about a month since my surgery. I'm very pleased with the recovery so far. The pain is no where near as bad as I've been told it will be. I am mostly taking Aleve for the pain now. I recommend this hospital and Dr. Richards for this type of surgery.
I can't speak for anyone else's care but I was taken to Greenview Hospital because my arm was so stiff and I had a little discomfort in my chest. The ER staff was fast and confused me as to what was going on. I was admitted to the hospital for four days. The Doctors were a little slow as to giving me the results but the nursing staff, housekeeping staff, transportation staff were way beyond excellent. I have reported my experience to the corporate office in Tennessee. Nurse Becca, Nurse Taylor and the others treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. I am sorry that I can't remember the other nurses names and the other staff members names to thank them to the corporate office but you know who you are. I am home now, a little sore from my procedure but very happy to be there because of their care.
It's sad that America is supposed to be the greatest country in the world and the richest. But we have sub par facilities and doctors and nurses who don't care about their patients. If you work in the healthcare field you should have a passion for your job and compassion for all your patients. Well they don't have either here. My son had a really high fever and was shaking, twitching and almost passed out on a few occasions. So I took him here and they acted like I was stupid for bringing him in. Really unprofessional and rude. It's funny they rush when they are tending to you, but take their time getting back to you. We were there 4 hours just to take one quick blood test and a quick x Ray. And they were done in the first hour. So waited 3 hours just for them to discharge us with a antibiotic. Then the pharmacist had to call them back because the prescription they wrote didn't make sense. Wish we had a good hospital here like Vanderbilt. This place is ridiculous
