He was worse, so we took him back in...
brought Boomer out to lobby....and he was soaked with urine, couldn't hold his head up, coughing and labored breathing!!!
Next, the female vet is just as rude. She won't even make eye contact. And she practically tossed my dog to me with a severe back injury because I wanted a second opinion on treatment. The place is cheap, yes. But its filthy, poorly run, and the vets are so rude. The front staff is nice, all I can say good about this place.
Her office clerk called Monday and wanted to know when the bill would be paid...still didn't ask about Boomer!
We asked for his
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!
Saturday....April 1, 9:00 am...
Love this place. They are the best by far.
x-rays, that we were going to have to get him somewhere else right away- that he was dying.....the tech said she couldn't give them to us....I told her that we just needed to go .....get him somewhere else.... she said that she couldn't release him without payment.... she would have to get the bill together...REALLY!!!.....
We then went to the clinic around 2:00, and no one was there....we sit in the parking lot and kept calling..... finally...around 4:30, Dr. Linze called (with attitude)...
Long story short....
We left and took him to Dr Thomas in Smiths Grove..... but it was too late by then...he was too weak to fight at that point.
Absolutely the worst vet I've even been to. Dr. Denton is a rude, sour old man who treats you like you are a hassle to him. He will give your pets medicine without asking or explaining, he will treat without your consent. If you ask a question or try to disagree or research something, he will act like a child and not speak to you. He left me waiting in the exam room to help other patients just to be a jerk because he wanted my dog to be kenneled there while on meds instead of at my home. I can give my dog pills, I don't need to pay weeks of kennel fees for him to be alone and scared in a dirty facility.
Dr Linze calls while we are with Dr Thomas saying we upset her tech...never once asked about Boomer.
They hide charges from you until you pay, as in they say one price 79 then when you go to pay it might be 150 oh the animal needed blood work. I hadn't even approved blood work. Watch them
DO NOT take your pets here....I understand that Dr. Denton may have had a very successful, caring business in the past......but things are not the same since Dr. Linze has become a part of it. BEWARE!
We told her Boomer had died because of Dr. Linze's negligence.....
The kicker: Boomer had received no IV's, he was severely dehydrated and lungs were filled with infection ... Absolutely just total neglect from Dr Linze!!!!!
Dr Linze looked at him again..She said she was going to do more tests on him...looked like pneumonia, dehydration...that he needed IV fluids....
Tech came 30 minutes later...(5:00)
Dr Thomas was wonderful....spent 2 hours with him and us.
said they close at noon, but she would call us with test results and he may need to stay later, but a tech would be there.
He was nearly dead!
Boomer, our 1.5 year old precious Yorkie, was coughing -so we took him to Westgate....Dr Linze examined him, said she did an x-ray, kept him 2 hours, told us he probably was just having trouble digesting something...gave us pain pills to give him 4 times/day......said he would be fine, and charged us $200.
The tech said, "He appears to be doing better". I was in 'black out' mode at that point!
We asked why she hadn't called us back....that we wanted to know about Boomer.....she said she would send a tech back to the clinic to give him to us....that he was doing better.
We tried calling her around noon, but it went to an answering service....we kept trying to reach her for at least 2 hours....the answering service lady told us she was giving her our messages to call us....but she hadn't called!
I have always taken my cats to Dr. Denton, and I have been very pleased with the care. They started using the PetDesk app for appointments, and that made scheduling and communication a breeze. The building is tiny and in an inconvenient location for me, but I wouldn’t think of going to a different vet.
SHE NEVER CALLED!
Remember.... this is the short version...it has been a total nightmare!!!!!
