Bunch of pushy car salesman. Big turn off when it comes to buying.
Had en appointment to have a wedding band set. It was great at first, talked to the jeweler who I had the appointment with. He advised me to not have the band set because it would cost more. I appreciated his advice, but then they started jumping in to selling me a band and getting me on their store financing. After expressing that I do not do store financing and I am completely against it, they still kept pushing. She even mentioned that if I want to have any credit I need to get credit. That comment alone caught me off guard.
We love ashcroft and oak. We've been loyal customers since 2012 and buy all our stuff here. Unique designs you don't see anywhere else. Love that they have an in-house jeweler where work is done in house. High recommend to anyone looking for fewelry.
I was shopping for a engagement ring today. I shopped prices and styles. It came down to two rings, one at Ashcroft and one at Zales. The lady wasn't rude at all but very pushy at Ashcroft. The ring was with a man made diamond was way over priced. Then to put a diamond in was a even crazier price. They kept trying to push that lab diamonds are better than natural diamonds. I know enough to where that isn't true. The warranty was a 1000.00 dollars, no place in this business has a warranty price this high. I also aaked if I can have her do a hardness test on the diamond. She didnt look happy and didnt want to do it. So, I went with Zales offer. It was higher quality diamond, bigger in size, and more TW of diamonds for alot less. But, while I was in Zales I saw the person who was helping me at Ashcroft pass by. About a minute later, she calls trying to say that I need to stay away, I won't get quality diamonds there. I will never buy from Ashcroft and would advise peoplw to stay away from there. If the staff wasn't so pushy and the prices matched close to competitor's prices. I most likely would of bought the engagement ring there.
It started out to be a great conversation to becoming pushy and awkward. I told her that I wanted to wait and think about it, considering I had different plans walking into the store. And the holidays are coming up, so I figured they would be a sale. She then mentioned that they're not going to be having any more sales this year... funny considering Black Friday and Christmas sales will start going on in three weeks. She kept saying just go ahead and buy it and return it... "we have a 30 day return policy" then would bring up the financing again, after the 15th time I told her I do not do store financing, the conversation started to be extremely awkward and pushy. I honestly didn't know how to get away from it. When she did the pass off sales technique I finally got out of there. I probably would have bought the ring, if she wasn't so pushy, for the simple fact that I loved the band. Luckily today I found a band exactly identical to it for half the price. I was in sales for four years in college, pushing people to buy something by using a return policy excuse isn't the way you do business and assuming a younger woman has bad credit isn't the way you get a customer to do in-store financing.
My precious! Lots and lots of pricey rocks and metal
